Milrinone Lactate Injection:
Features:
  • A positive Inotrope & Vasodilator
  • A selective inhibitor of peak III CAMP phosphodiesterase isozyme in cardiac and vascular muscle
  • Increases myocardial contractility
  • In addition to increasing Myocardial contractility, MILRON improves diastolic function as evidenced by improvements in left ventricular diastolic relaxation
  • In patients with CHF, produces dose related and plasma drug concentration related increases in the maximum rate of increase of left ventricular pressure.
Indications:
  • Acute decompensated heart failure
  • Short term management of CCF in patients unresponsive to digitalis, diuretics or vasodilators.
Dosage:
Administer by I.V. Infusion over 10 mins. initiate therapy with 0.50mg/kg by IV infusion at a rate of 0.375 - 0.75 mcg/kg/min usually for up to 12 hours following surgery or 48 - 72 hours in CHF.

Max daily dose: 1.13 mg/kg.
